These Partner Terms and Conditions (“Partner Terms”) govern your participation in the Local Plumbers Partner programme. By completing the Partner sign-up process and paying your first monthly subscription, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not proceed with your application.
1. Definitions
- “Platform” means the Local Plumbers website at localplumbersltd.co.uk and any associated tools and dashboards
- “Partner” means a Gas Safe registered plumbing or heating engineer accepted into the programme
- “Lead” means an enquiry submitted by a potential customer and forwarded to you via the Platform
- “Subscription Fee” means the monthly fee payable for access to leads in your allocated county
- “County” means the geographical area allocated to you on acceptance into the programme
2. Eligibility
To become and remain a Partner you must at all times:
- Hold a valid Gas Safe registration covering the work types you advertise through the Platform
- Hold public liability insurance of at least ยฃ1,000,000
- Be legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom
- Have no unspent criminal convictions for fraud, dishonesty or offences against persons
- Operate as a sole trader, limited company or LLP registered in the UK
You must notify us immediately if any of the above conditions cease to be met. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if eligibility requirements are not maintained.
3. The Application Process
Your application will be reviewed by our team. We reserve the right to decline any application without providing a reason. You will receive confirmation of acceptance or rejection within two working days of receiving a completed application. Payment is taken at the point of application; if your application is rejected we will issue a full refund within five working days.
4. Subscription and Payment
4.1 Monthly Fee
Your Subscription Fee is charged monthly in advance via Stripe. The current fee is displayed on the Partner sign-up page. We may change the Subscription Fee with 30 days written notice.
4.2 Failed Payments
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry automatically. If payment remains outstanding for seven days, your account will be suspended and leads will cease. Your account will be reinstated automatically once payment is collected.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time by emailing hello@localplumbersltd.co.uk. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are given for partial months. On cancellation, your county becomes available to other applicants.
4.4 No Guarantee of Lead Volume
The Subscription Fee purchases access to leads in your county. We do not guarantee a minimum number of leads. Lead volume depends on organic enquiry levels which may vary seasonally. No refunds are given on the basis of low lead volume.
5. Leads and Exclusivity
Each county may be allocated to one active Partner at a time. If a county is unclaimed or a Partner’s subscription lapses, the county will be offered to new applicants. Exclusivity applies only to the main county-level lead routing; customers may still find and contact multiple plumbers independently.
You must respond to every lead forwarded to you within four hours during reasonable hours (7am to 10pm). Persistent failure to respond to leads is grounds for suspension.
6. Standards of Service
As a Partner you agree to:
- Always show your Gas Safe ID card to customers before commencing any gas work
- Provide written fixed-price quotes before beginning work
- Carry out all work to a professional standard and in compliance with applicable building regulations
- Issue Gas Safety Certificates (CP12) on completion of applicable gas work
- Maintain a tidy and respectful presence on customer premises
- Provide customers with a 12-month workmanship guarantee on all completed work
- Not charge customers any amount in excess of the price quoted in advance
7. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- Use the Local Plumbers brand or platform to misrepresent your qualifications or experience
- Attempt to circumvent the Platform by directing customers to contact you through alternative channels in order to avoid lead attribution
- Engage in aggressive, threatening or abusive behaviour towards customers or Local Plumbers staff
- Accept payment for work that has not been completed or for work carried out to a substandard level
- Subcontract work to individuals who are not Gas Safe registered for applicable work types without the customer’s knowledge and consent
8. Complaints
If a customer raises a complaint about work you have carried out, you must engage with it promptly and reasonably. We will notify you of complaints received through the Platform. If a complaint remains unresolved after 14 days, or if it involves a serious safety concern, we reserve the right to investigate and to suspend your account pending resolution.
Repeated or serious complaints may result in permanent removal from the Platform. We will provide you with the opportunity to respond before taking any such action.
9. Intellectual Property
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Local Plumbers name and logo solely in connection with your participation in the Partner programme, and only in ways that we expressly approve. This licence terminates immediately on cancellation or termination of your subscription.
You retain ownership of your own business name, logo and materials.
10. Data Protection
In receiving and processing customer leads, you act as an independent data controller. You are responsible for handling customer personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. You must:
- Process customer data only for the purpose of responding to and fulfilling their service enquiry
- Not retain customer data for longer than necessary
- Not sell, share or use customer data for marketing purposes without the customer’s explicit consent
- Notify us immediately in the event of a data breach involving customer data obtained through the Platform
11. Liability
Local Plumbers acts solely as an introducer and platform operator. We are not party to the contract between you and any customer. We accept no liability for:
- Any loss or damage arising from work you carry out or fail to carry out
- Any dispute between you and a customer regarding the quality, cost or completion of work
- Any claim brought against you by a customer or third party
You agree to indemnify Local Plumbers against any claims, costs or losses arising from your breach of these Partner Terms or from the services you provide to customers.
12. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your Partner account immediately without notice if:
- Your Gas Safe registration lapses or is revoked
- You engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
- You receive a serious or substantiated complaint involving a safety risk to a customer
- You breach any of the Prohibited Conduct provisions in Clause 7
In all other circumstances, we will provide seven days written notice before terminating your account and give you the opportunity to respond.
On termination for any reason, any outstanding Subscription Fees become immediately due and payable.
13. Governing Law
These Partner Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Partner Terms from time to time. We will give you 30 days written notice of material changes by email. Your continued participation in the Partner programme after that period constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may cancel your subscription before they take effect.
